Overall History: Luke was born in the West, on a ranch that his father owned. He was the youngest of three children, all boys which made life difficult growing up. Being younger, more tender than the others, his father used to beat him into shape to get him to be like his other sons who were doing well at school, where as at first Luke’s education wasn’t going at all well.
His brothers were successful, they went off into the world and he never saw them again as he grew up, as they were a good 6 years older than him. He stayed on the ranch, working hard until he got good grades to leave and find work.
Finding work was hard, his childhood had been one of living in fear of his mother, being beaten and he was extremely shy in talking to people. Especially potential employers. He began moving east, picking up work along the way until he got to a teaching school – he wanted children less fortunate than him to get a good education – he had always loved music, the sound and being able to sing had always been a passion of his, so decided to take a degree in music – this worked out and he graduated when he was 23. He had been worried about his sexuality and once, after a drunk night found he was asleep in another man’s bed, he had freaked out and had only calmed down when said man – a fellow student Jackson – had explained everything, Luke had been slightly put out by this experience…he did like girls…and then again, he did like boys…what was going on with him?
He recently has left a school South of Brooklyn and wanted a change, now he has just arrived at Brooklyn High School…what horrors will await him there…

(from another site) - ”"We really have some pretty tough luck huh?"” Stephen nodded, they did indeed. The countless times the two of them could have been killed was coming up to double figures…
Edward withdrew a cigarette packet from his pocket, and offered some to Stephen which he took willingly and quickly, he stuck it into his mouth and grabbed the lighter shakily from Edward’s outstretched hand, lighting the stick and then chucking it back at his friend.
”Thanks,” he muttered as he blew out the smoke, taking a drag and watching as it twirled into the morning air, like it was dancing, dancing away to a safer place. He could see Edward’s face out of the corner of his eye, the eyebrows had furrowed, the man looked worried…He probably thinks I am going to die or something along those lines... Stephen thought as he leant away and on to the tree this time, the cigarette hanging from his left hand.
"Ah come now, it can't be that bad can it?" Yes…yes it can. Stephen bit his bottom lip, frantically trying to phrase words in his head…come to think of it, the actually thing he was about to say wasn’t too bad in the sense he wasn’t going to die…what had Nathan said? But he could go to prison for it…but that was stupid…surely if you loved someone…someone of the same sex…that wasn’t a crime? What was the world coming to?
He opened his mouth, his eyes scanning the surrounding, thought better then closed it. He remembered Nathan’s reaction to what he had said…a low whistle…a sudden shock expression on the Kiwi’s face…that had been bad…this would most likely be worse…it wasn’t the whole being gay thing that Stephen was worried about telling Edward, it was the whole “And I love you like a man loves a woman” thing. Ah well, Edward was grown up, he could deal with it surely.
”Well…umm…” he took a long drag, ”Err…” he laughed nervously, running his right hand through his tangled mousy brown hair, ”You know when….a man loves a woman….” he stopped, took a breath…”That love is pretty strong right? And it can take over your life…” he paused once more, waiting for a nod or shake of the head from his friend and then continued either way, ”Something like that has taken over my life….its taken over my life for the last two years…and….and….that person is…standing right in front of me.” he nodded his head towards the silent, smoking figure in front of him, seeing him with new eyes…a weight had been lifted…he now hoped that Edward got what he meant otherwise he would have to explain it in even more detail.
He sighed, and rubbed his face, peeking through his sprayed fingers to Edward’s silent form…please don’t take it the wrong way… he thought frantically, a worried expression crossing his face.
