King Takes Queen
What isn't very well known is that Henry was a very passionate, smart, and loving man. He adored his wife, and his many lovers, giving them everything they could possibly need and desire, and then some. He would bend over backwards for his children, his friends, and his wife. But he also had his needs. He needed to be loved, he needed the passion, and the anger built up inside of him returned. And there was one woman that seemed to fit all of those needs.
Anne Boleyn.
Yet, she remained out of his grasp, she was beautiful, smart, witty, strong willed, and alurring. He desired her more then he had ever desired anyone else in his life, and he knew she wanted him in return. Still though, she shied away telling him that she couldn't be with him while he was married. That it would ruin her prospects, and her maiden head for marriage. Henry believed her, even if there was more behind her plan then he could have figured.
Now Henry is torn, he has a wife, Queen Catherine of Aragon and there are no grounds for divorce. She had done nothing wrong, except for the fact that she was much older then him and hadn't bared him a son. Henry believes that her marriage with his now dead brother had in fact been consummated, and this was Gods punishment to him. But he couldn't divorce her, it was against the papal law, the people of England loved her, and England would lose its alliance with Spain.
What will happen? Henry loves Anne, but he can't be with her, he is married and cannot divorce, England is in a tight position with an impending war with France and sickness is sweeping through the land. People are starting to question Henry's methods of leading, and if he is even capable to run the country on his own, or if he is letting his lust lead the way.
Where do you stand? Are you for Henry and Anne? Henry and Catherine? Or just no Henry at all? Choose your alliance wisely, and be careful who you trust. Many people have sharp hearing and loose lips around court. One wrong word and it could be your head.
